PAWSabilities

PAWSabilities is an innovative program designed to bring a safe and effective animal-assisted program to the community.  The primary goal of PAWSabilities is to enhance the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and leisure development of participants.

PAWSabilities provides animal assisted activities for clients with special needs who live in assisted living and residential settings in the Edmonton area.  The goal of the program is to enhance the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and leisure development of the participants.  Those who enjoy variety, challenge and interaction with companion animals will find PAWSabilities stimulating and fun!  The program is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to or fears dogs, cats or other animals. 

PAWSabilities is held at the Pet Therapy Society Centre and we offer arts and crafts, games, music, expressive arts and more – all alongside pet therapy animals.  The site is wheelchair accessible with plenty of free parking. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Pet Therapy Society is not responsible for providing any medical or personal care for those attending PAWSabilities.  Participants must be accompanied by a qualified caregiver.
