Membership

Your membership in the Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta demonstrates that you share our heartfelt belief in the enormous benefits of interaction between people and companion animals.  It also plays an important role in helping Pet Therapy Society programs reach and comfort others in our community.

Individual Membership

$25/year for a voting membership

$20/year for a non-voting membership

Your membership entitles you to borrow books from our library, benefit from a reduced price at Society functions and special events, discounts at selected businesses, reduced prices on fund-raising items and receive the Pet Therapy Society’s newsletter published every two months.

For visiting teams, all representatives of the Pet Therapy Society must be members in good standing in ordered to be covered by our insurance when visiting facilities or participating in a program.

Corporate (Facility/Organization) Membership

$35/year for a non-voting membership

Corporate membership includes a Certificate of Membership, benefits of reduced prices at Society functions and special events, reduced prices on fundraising items, the Pet Therapy Society’s newsletter published four times a year.

Your membership in the Pet Therapy Society also entitles you to enjoy a wide range of services and support available to member facilities:

  • Personal consultation and assistance in setting up your facility’s program
  • Self-assessment tools to assist your facility in developing your pet therapy program independently
  • Promotion of your facility to PeTS members
  • A 12 hour introduction to pet therapy education program for volunteers and professionals which includes health screening and aptitude assessment for participants by a team of qualified evaluators
  • Staff supervising your facility’s pet therapy program are welcome to attend the Pet Education Program at no charge
  • Custom designed in-service education for staff in your facility
  • Access to information and resources about pet therapy as well as lending library for members

The Pet Therapy Society can assist you in designing a successful pet therapy program that will meet your needs.
